In the film Sabrina, the eponymous heroine is distressed that the man that she loves does not seem to notice her. She then leaves the U.S. and spends two years in Paris, before returning as an attractive and sophisticated woman, who instantly catches the attention of the wealthy playboy that she is in love with, in spite of his engagement to another woman. Perceiving this, his brother tries to make her fall in love with himself instead to prevent any disruption to a financially advantageous marriage, but in the process falls in love with her for real. He reveals his scheme to her and she nearly returns to Paris alone, but at the end of the film, they confess their love and go to Paris together.
