This piece features some 3D-digitally printed designs of flowers and insects from Gary James McQueen (second picture), nephew of and former head of textiles for the famous fashion designer Alexander McQueen. These artificially created nods to the natural world are carefully situated among a selection of luxury items, including a Chanel lipstick, a Mont Blanc Pen, a Dupont Lighter, Gucci Sunglasses and some stunning citrine gems from Shakara, displaying the tension between the modern female world and nature. Through this association, this sculpture explores female advancement through the digital realm. This piece strives to examine the agency of digital celebrity, where the real and the constructed lives of such women are entangled, blurring the lines between intimacy, self-promotion, and female entrepreneurship.
