Debra Franses Bean (b.1967) Ode to Warhol II Mixed media in solid transparent resin, in the form of a three-dimensional handbag encasing various fabricated contents including a soup can, a pair of glitter shoes, lipstick, a small golden replica ‘gun’ a dollar bill and ‘Chanel’ bottle of perfume, 56 cm. x 40 cm. x 16 cm., weight 15kg. DFB: My homage to the iconic father of Pop Art, featuring a plethora of kitsch signs and signifiers from Warhol’s oeuvre. This work personifies 1960s’ Americana and would be a perfect accompaniment to a Pop Art or handbag collection.
