This Artbag resin sculpture was displayed at the Scope Art fair in Miami in 2018 and is inspired by the 1983 cult classic movie ‘Scarface’, which was nominated for three Golden Globes. The movie is a tale of immorality and success, as it depicts the rags to riches rise of Tony Montana through becoming a powerful drug lord, followed by his inevitable downfall, fuelled by a drug-induced paranoia. The ‘Scarface’ Artbag can be seen as a comment on the glorification of the criminal lifestyle, where acts of murder, drug taking and materialistic desire are glamourised.
